Tissue Paper Flowers Craft - Great Craft for Kids to Decorate Birthday Gifts or for Mom

You can use these tissue paper flowers to decorate presents, wear in your hair, or even add chocolates to the center and give as a gift.  We aways make a couple to decorate a birthday gift and they always get noticed.  It's a very easy craft for kids to make.  Use this craft to make a homemade gift for someone special

Supplies for Tissue Paper Flowers:

  • Tissue Paper
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Thin wooden dowels (craft dowels, you can usually find these in the cake decorating section because they can be used to add support to a tiered cake), if you are going to add chocolates to the center
  • Scissors
  • Low-temp glue gun

    To Make a Tissue Paper Flower:

    • Cut 12-15 small squares of tissue paper and stack them together
    • Accordion fold them and fasten in the middle with a pipe cleaner

    • If you want to add chocolate, glue one end of the wrapper to the middle of the flower.  Glue the bottom, middle of the flower to the top of the dowel and wrap the pipe cleaner around the dowel
    • Round the ends of the flower with scissors (or cut them pointed for a different look)
    • Start pulling up one layer of tissue paper at a time
      towards the center of the flower

      I love these flowers. My sister-in-law made these in an assortment of colors and I have them in a vase in my kitchen window in place of real flowers that I will never take the time to keep alive. She is a very crafty person even though she is only 10. She has also decorated tote bags with jewels and colored glue. That's another simple craft if your kids really enjoyed the flowers.
