Make a cute pencil/pen top decoration using Craft Foam Sheets.  Try making this Foam Pig Pencil Topper.  You can also make this as a Finger Puppet by simply making the body wider to fit a finger instead of a pencil.  Here's another pig craft for you.

Supplies for Foam Pig Pencil Topper:

  • Craft Foam Sheets
  • Pom Pom
  • Googly Eyes
  • Glue/Low-Temp Glue Gun

To Make a Foam Pig Pencil Topper:finger puppet step 1

    • For the body, cut out a square from a craft foam sheet that is wide enough to wrap around your pen or pencil plus about ½ inch. (NOTE:  If you are making a finger puppet instead of a pencil topper then make it wide enough to wrap around a finger.)
    • Glue the square in a cylindrical shape, making sure your pencil can fit in.  Using a glue gun will speed things up, but you can also use any kind of craft glue, you will just need to tape it to hold the shape until it dries.
    • Glue a pom pom to the top of the cylinder to make the head.  Glue on the eyes.  Let dry.
    • Cut ears and nose out of foam and glue on head.  Let dry.
    • Use pipe cleaner to make a curly tail.  Glue to the body. IMPORTANT NOTE:  If this is to be used as a finger puppet, DON’T glue tail to the inside of the body or the wire might stick fingers. (glue to the outside)
    • Make legs out of foam or pipe cleaners and glue to the body.
