Decorate your front door with this cute Easter Fabric Wreath in the shape of an Egg. It's a great craft for kids learning to tie. You can adapt this craft to a variety of kids' ages by how you cut the fabric. You can use leftover scrap fabric or go to the store and have fun picky out a fun Easter color.
Supplies Needed for an Easter Egg Fabric Wreath:
- 1 yard of cotton fabric - quilting fabric works great because it's easy to tear in straight lines
- 1 clothes hanger
- Ribbon that matches the Fabric
- Scissors
- Wire Cutters (Optional)
Directions to make an Easter Egg Fabric Heart Wreath:
- Start by bending your clothes hanger into a circle, if you have wire cutters you can cut off the part you use to hang the coat hanger, if not you can just fold it down and wind it around the coat hanger
- Once you get all of the bends of the coat hanger out you can then shape it into an Egg.
- Next tear the fabric into long strips. The width of the strip will depend on the age child. If a younger child just learning to tie is doing this craft you will want thinner, longer strips because they are easier to tie.
If the child is older you can do wider strips, which I think looks better. You might want to have your child test out a strip to see if he or she can tie it on the clothes hanger first.
To tear the fabric, first cut into it a little with the scissors and then you can tear it the rest of the way to get an even strip.
- After you've torn all your fabric into long strips, gather them together and line the tops up. Then it will be easy to cut all of them at once to the length you want, again the length depends on the age of the child.
- Then tie all of strips on the coat hanger until it's completely full.
- To finish it tie a ribbon at the top for hanging
