Make a cute butterfly great for a Valentine gift. This adorable Butterfly Pencil Topper craft for kids uses hearts for his wings.
Supplies to make a Valentine Heart Butterfly Pencil Topper:
- Craft Foam Sheets
- Pom Pom
- Googly Eyes
- Foam Stickers or other decorative materials
- Pipe Cleaner
- Scissors
- Low-Temperature Glue Gun
Directions for a Valentine Heart Butterfly Pencil Topper Craft:
- Fold your Foam Sheet in half length-wise and cut out a heart leaving the very bottom of the heart uncut and still attached to the foam sheet
- Fold the heart over to the uncut side of the foam sheet
- Cut around the heart to get the same shape heart still attached at the bottom of the hearts
- These are the wings of the butterfly, you can make them as small or big as you want
- Next take a rectangle of the foam sheet that is wide enough to wrap around your pencil plus a little extra to glue. Glue the end over the other end to form your cylinder body that will hold the butterfly on your pencil.
- Glue the wings on the back side of the cylinder body
- Glue the pom pom on the top of the cylinder body and the googly eyes on the pom pom
- Form your pipe cleaner into the antenna and glue to the back of the pom pom
- Have fun decorating the wings with foam stickers or any other decorating materials.
